Rosemary is an aromatic perennial plant belonging to the “lamiaceae” family.
Originally from Europe, Asia, and Africa, it is now spontaneous in the Mediterranean area, rocky cliffs and also in the hinterland.
The word rosemary comes from the Latin “ros” (dew) and “maris” (sea). Rosemary entered the kitchen through medicinal reasons. Rosemary is often etaen in Italy, where cooks are masters at using such strong flavours subtly. It is used to flavor roasts, potatoes, castagnaccio, stir-fried vegetables, bread, marinades buns and game.
