Dante’s Celebrations
In 2021, seven centuries are celebrated since Dante's death. At the table he was frugal and his favorite
food was eggs. Humble but nutritious and helpful, the egg was very present on the table in the Middle
Ages and was highly regarded for its symbolic value.
"Every form of life comes from the egg" was a saying and not surprisingly, it has also become the symbol
of the Resurrection and Easter for the Christian religion.
